Is the PreBirth Postnatal Class suitable for first-time parents that know nothing about newborns and postnatal care?
Absolutely. Our classes welcome first-time parents as well as those with multiple children, and we kept the diversity of our parents in mind with the collating of each subject within the class. Also, unless you have attended one of our PreBirth Postnatal Classes before, we guarantee that those parents with multiple children will learn new skills because our teachings add to and evolve the care practices that have been delivered in the past.
I’d like to attend the Bio-logical Solids Class but my infant is only four months. Is that too early to attend?
Not at all. Infact this is a perfect time to attend the class as it allows you time to prep before your infant reaches six months – the time that we recommend parents start offering solids because it aligns to an infant’s digestive capabilities.
Do I need to register in advance and is there a cost to attend?
Yes, spaces are limited, so we encourage you to register early to secure your spot. In regard to cost, yes, the classes carry a fee – full pricing details are listed in our curriculum booklet, or on our booking page.
How long does each class run for?
All of our classes go for ninety minutes with a 10-15-minute break with timing being at the educator's discretion. Given how much information is shared at each class, we do appreciate you arriving slightly early, so you are all settled to start class on time.
Where are the classes held?
All sessions are held in-person at a suitable location to the educator, and these must meet the IPHA guidelines of, clean, easily accessible with reasonable space allowance for all attending and potential prams (if required), comfortable seating and restrooms.
How much training do your educators have?
Each of our educators attend eleven weeks of training to deliver our pre-made classes. Their training consists of understanding the research-based reasoning behind each topic, having access to a library of FAQ’s that parents, you might ask, how to deliver the classes in a light but formative way, and they all get ongoing support from IPHA with anything that may pop up during the classes. So, you are well supported.
How do I join the community?
Our Parent IPHA Community is only available to those that attend one or more of our classes. On completing the class, you will receive an email from your educator with all the details to join the community. Here you will receive further postnatal support through self-paced videos, LIVE Q & A sessions and of course, growing connections with like-minded parents.
Can I bring my child to the class and what happens if I miss a class?
No, sorry. These are adult-only sessions to allow parents to focus and participate fully. Some courses may offer occasional family sessions — we’ll let you know in advance. If you do miss a class, we understand life happens, but we have got you! Missed sessions may be made up later or come with summary handouts or recordings (when available). If you have any further question you'd like answered before joining us, feel free to email them through to our team at support@iphalliance.com.
Founder of IPHA, CBS, INHC, BMs
Firstly, welcome. If this is your first time encountering our work, I’m truly glad you’re here.
The Infant Parent Health Alliance is birthed upon far too many of our infants screaming - some of which I held in my arms thinking, this is not right. Asking, what are we doing wrong? What are we missing? Thankfully, it turns out we have been missing quite a lot, because it now means we can evolve our care, so it reduces our infant's discomfort through further aligning to their subtle, biological cues. Cues that nature has written into their body and rhythms, asking us to understand so we can provide the depth of calm, foundational wellbeing, connection and health that our young ones and their parents, deserve to feel. That’s what we want for you and why we teach what we do.
As a parent myself whom understands the ebb and flow of the postnatal stage, I founded IPHA as a maternal practitioner of more than 30 years, and someone who has spent decades exploring the extraordinary relationship between infant digestion, early communication, and energetic balance. Through this journey I developed and refined the Bio-logical Care approach — a method that integrates nature's ancient wisdom, modern science, and the intuitive intelligence we all carry as caregivers.
Whether it's through our Plain + Slow = Gain + Grow method for introducing solids, or our informative postnatal teachings that share what’s truly “normal”, or our specialised tools for preventing colic, reflux and other signs of imbalance — everything we share is embedded in evidence, embodied practice, and lived experience that respects the reality of postnatal life.
I can say with complete conviction that our classes will transform you and your infant’s daily lives, because over the years, thousands of families across the globe have been supported with these methods. It’s not a fad, or a gimmick, or me trying to sell you something. These skills recognise a deep knowing, a remembering, of what our infants are truly made of and their asking for close connection through holistic practical care, and deeply respectful understanding, so they can feel intimately held and secure within their family’s unique choices.
Our educators and I would be honoured to walk alongside you as you step into this most important role, immersed in uplifting knowledge and support.
With warmth, love and hope for all our infants.
